ESCHENBACH vario digital FHD – video reader for visually impaired users.
A stationary assistance system that greatly enlarges printed texts and objects, making them easy to read.
Challenge
High functional density, complex mechanics, and robust construction—all aimed at a target audience that often has little technical expertise. The device should be powerful, yet appear quiet, intuitive, and reliable in use.
Design
A clear control hierarchy, visually understated technical elements, and a guided hinge mechanism for flexible camera positioning. The design was structured to keep technical complexity in the background and put usability front and center.
Effect
A robust, intuitive reading system that combines advanced functionality with a simple, secure user experience. Guided folding mechanism, visually calming technical elements, clear control hierarchy, compactly foldable.
