ESCHENBACH mobilux® – Next-Generation Lighted Magnifier.
Further development of an extremely successful illuminated magnifier for visually impaired people.
Challenge
High market expectations for a successful existing product, improvements in ergonomic features, and the design challenge of avoiding the appearance of a “medical prosthesis.”
Design
Significantly improved ergonomics with a comfortable grip, softer lines combined with a clearly structured geometry, and a high-contrast black-and-white design that highlights the handle and lens. When in the OFF position, the slide switch forms a continuous line between the head and the handle. When in the ON position, this line is visibly interrupted—ensuring clear visibility from a distance.
Effect
A magnifying lamp with a significantly broader target audience and greater acceptance in everyday life. The product appears less specialized, more ergonomic, and of higher quality, transforming assistive technology into an everyday item that feels like a natural part of life.
