Bugatti Veyron – Audio and climate controls.
A control unit that combines historic brand identity, mechanical precision, and high-speed ergonomics into a single interface.
Challenge
The design had to pay homage to Bugatti’s classic heyday while also meeting the dynamic driving requirements of a 400 km/h vehicle. Minimal distraction, intuitive operation, and a tactile sense of quality were key.
Design
Development of a dual control unit that integrates into the center console, drawing inspiration from classic Bugatti instrument panels. Large, precision-crafted controls, high-quality metal surfaces, and precisely calibrated resistance and detent forces ensure reliable operation even without visual confirmation.
Effect
A control unit in which function, materials, and mechanics merge to create an engineering aesthetic that can be experienced through the senses. Its tactile quality conveys a sense of value immediately through touch—whether the vehicle is in motion or at a standstill.
