Challenge
High market expectations for an established, successful product. Improvement of ergonomic aspects. Avoidance of the character of a ‘medical prosthesis’.
Solution
Significantly improved ergonomics with particularly comfortable hand contact. Softer lines with clearly structured geometry. High-contrast black and white design with targeted accentuation of the handle and lens. When switched off, the slide switch forms a formal line between the head and the handle. When switched on, this line is visibly interrupted – clear readability from a distance.
Result
A magnifying lamp with a significantly expanded target audience. From a specialised aid to a universally accepted everyday product. Reduced production costs despite high-quality two-colour design. International market success with significantly increased sales figures at a stable level. Awarded the Red Dot Design Award, among others.
